| Problem with my new bike, naka Small Block 8 sya. Came packaged with my built Haro Shift R5. Sobrang low rolling resistance, mabilis nga sya pero walang kapit when cornering in wet soil. Right now the only thing I do on trails is reduce tire pressure. Thinking of getting Nevegals then keep ko na lang tong SB8 pag tapos na tag-ulan. Tapos may option pa ako na Nevs ang front tapos SB8 rear combo. Sarap nyan sa summer. Ok din ba Excavators? Any other recommendations? My current tires are 2.1. Any advantages of getting wider tires? Or ok na din ang 2.1? |

| much wider-more control on rough terrain, more weight din
hard pack to loose soil-minion at high roller(maxxis),nevegals muddy trail-any tires with protruded noobies (maxxis swampthing and alike)
i think you wont get wrong with 2.3-2.35
just my opinion ha |

| Nice. Yeah, I guess wider tires would be better. For what I do anyway. So I guess what's best for me are the middle-range tires that can do hard-pack but can still hold its own against mud. I'm looking at Nevs for their popularity, or maybe Maxxis' Minion. I haven't checked the width range of my tubes - pwede kaya existing tubes ko if I go wider? Tingnan ko nga mamaya. |

| my 2 cents... try the nevegals for the front tire & SB8 on the rear, I think it's a more versatile tire set-up for our unpredictable weather, especially in maarat. with nevegals in the front, there would be less of a chance of your front tire from slipping when cornering in wet trails. basta don't hesitate lang when cornering. also, with SB8 on the rear, there's an advantage of less rolling resistance from your drive tire. just my opinion though... |

| Has anyone here experienced using both Nevegals and Excavators? Both tires are rated Hard Pack to Light Mud. Which in your opinion is the better tire? |

| Ei Zap, Before I thought that the praises for the Nevs were all hype. I was a die-hard Maxxis High Rollers fanatic. Then I fancied the Gazzalodis, ok sya sa hard pack. Downside is, madulas sa basang lupa. Twice ako nadale, one in going down nursery and the other sa La Mesa. Then we went to Sagada, syet... muntik ako tumambling sa mga ugat na basa. Joey lent me his a bit worn-out Nevs and I swear, kumapal ang buhok ko... ay mali, ang kapit talaga. There's no looking back for me after that, my current set-up is 2.35 up front and 2.1 sa likod. |

LOL! Pota napatawa ako dun a.
Sige - mukha ngang tried and tested na talaga ang Nevs, and it's the way to go.
Thanks bro! |

| zap iba nag sticky nevs sa front then dtc nevs sa rear...like jb
magaang ang kendas compared to maxxis pero madali masira sidewall ng kenda na hindi dh sidewall....pero perfect sa maarat yan with the mud and paved sections. wala naman sharp rocks masyado... |

Sige, sige... thanks for the input.
 SB8/Nevs combo.
Pero habang tag-ulan siguro tago ko muna SB8 ko and go for Nevs. |

Honga e!

Is this a "Shift in Wolf's clothing"? July 9, 2009 1:01 PM jill hamilton said...
Not so much. Looks a lot like it (there's only so many ways you can build a single pivot frame) but the geometry and tubing are different from the Shift. July 9, 2009 2:08 PM |

Apparently, Haro sponsored pa din sya. They're selling a very limited number of replicas of his bike.
Saw it on the MTB homepage of the Haro website: http://www.harobikes.com/mtb/ |
