hello fellow bikers! do you know of a shop which can fabricate disc brake mounts for a non-disc jamis frame? i have an extra set of hydro brakes which i would like to install in my kid's bike. sabi sa ibang shop, machine shop lang daw katapat using aluminum billet. salamat!

@ Markt - you might want to consider getting a b/new disc-specific frame na lang. Hindi naman siguro F/S yung frame ng anak mo? You don't have to break the bank to get a decent hardtail. It may cost you a little more but it will save you from a lot of headache in the end. And your kid will surely love you for it.

meron pa isang gumagawa sa caloocan, si mighty mike. he can work with aluminum. mostly, motorcycle swingarms ang mga trabaho nya. pero, gumawa n din sya ng full suspension aluminum frame.
pulido gumawa kaya medyo pricey. mas practical na magpalit ka nlng ng disc ready na frame, or bili ka nlng ng adaptor for disc brakes.

malayo ka rin sa caloocan sa tondo manila pa yung mity mike, not worth it na travel kapa at mapapagastos pa sa pagawa tama si dal at zaptheman sa tip syo by the way pricey pagawa dun, mas prefer nalang na buy a new disc ready frame nalang.

thank you marino for the heads up marino! wow, he's really a master fabricator, malupit talaga demand sa expertise niya.

capt, zap and pete, tama kayo. it will be easier and safer to change the frame when the time comes. naisip ko lang kasi pag nakabit yung discs, baka madagdagan saddle time niya hahaha! unfortunately, walang adpaters available for that frame (jamis x1). anyway, baka we might just end up using it as is - hanggang malaspag yung bike.

Sir Have you tried looking for the Universal Disc Brake Frame Adaptor?
Way back 2005 it sells for p1,000k im not sure lang now if its still available locally.

You could try the Local Bike Shops in Quiapo & Cartimar area.

Or Have it fabricated sa Machine shop or sa Friend ni Marino,
He just needs a Pattern or Copy, Kayang-Kaya yan.

hi chi, i tried looking for adapters, but only sourced trek specific parts. i will try looking in other shops. a lathe machine is all that's needed, i think.
